Bible Story: Peter and Cornelius (Acts 10)

Remember This: “These are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.” John 20:31, NLV

Say This: Who can believe in Jesus? I can believe in Jesus.

(Video length: 12:34) This week’s story is all about how we can tell the whole world about Jesus! Do you spy Peter with your binoculars? Some people who were different from Peter asked him to come to their house to tell them all about Jesus and he did! Peter told them all about Jesus because anyone and everyone can believe in Jesus!

Elementary Experience:

Bible Story: Peter Goes to the House of Cornelius (Acts 10)

Memory Verse: “Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being sure of what we do not see” - Hebrews 11:1, NIrV

Life App: FAITH: Trusting in what you can’t see because of what you can see

Bottom Line: Knowing Jesus changes the way you see others.

(Video length: 18:31) Peter was going from town to town telling people about Jesus and stopped in a town called Joppa for a short time, staying with a friend named Simon. While Peter was praying, God sent him a vision - it looked like a large sheet with all sorts of animals that Jews were forbidden to eat. Find out what God was trying to tell Peter with this vision and who Cornelius was in this week’s video. For Peter, knowing Jesus changed the way he saw others!

Key question: What are some ways people are different from each other?

(Video length: 19:05) This week’s story is about when Peter met Cornelius, who was a Roman soldier. Many Jesus followers at the time thought you had to be Jewish in order to follow Jesus. There were laws that said that Jewish people and people who were not Jewish (also called Gentiles) couldn’t even hang out together. There were also laws about what you could not eat and so Peter was confused about a vision God gave with animals that he could not eat. What did this vision mean? Find out in this week’s story!
